The Sand Ceremony has become more and more popular with couples that I have married lately. It is a meaningful way to symbolize the joining together of two lives coming together as one. The celebration usually takes about two or three minutes in length, and consists of the couple pouring different colors of sand into a special container, first layering their colors separately to symbolize their individuality, and then blending their colors together symbolizing their two lives being joined together as one. (See example below.)

The Sand Ceremony can also be altered in many ways to include family and friends. Besides the bride and groom, various colors of sand are given to wedding members who will add their sand to the couple's sand, all flowing into the container, creating a colorful and one-of-a kind symbol of unity.

In an age where couples are planning weddings that are unique to their beliefs and lifestyle, the sand ceremony can be personalized many different ways to fit the occasion. After the ceremony, the bride and groom have a wonderful keepsake to remember their wedding day, as well as a constant reminder of their commitment to one another.

Whatever your dream wedding entails, consider incorporating the Sand Ceremony into the celebration. I'll be happy to assist you and explain the whole sand ceremony process and together we'll create memories that your guests will talk about for a long time to come.
