The Rose Ceremony is a unique and meaningful addition to any marriage ceremony. It will also inspire your guests.

In the Rose Ceremony, the Bride and Groom give each other a single rose. Two roses are all that is necessary. There are many variations of the rose ceremony depending on the preference of the couple. It can take place after the ring exchange or immediately after being pronounced husband and wife.

After the exchange of roses between the couple the wording goes along these lines:

“In some ways it seems like you have not done anything at all. Just a moment ago you were holding two small roses  - and now you are still holding two small roses. In some ways, a marriage ceremony is like this. In some ways, tomorrow is going to seem no different than yesterday. But in fact today, just now, you both have given and received one of the most valuable and precious gifts of life - One I hope you always remember - The gift of true and abiding love within the devotion of marriage.”

The couple is then encouraged to use a rose as a symbol of their love for one another in the years to come. “If the seas should get choppy and the words may be hard to find, the gift of a simple rose can be used to mean, ‘I love you’.”
